ApartmentDevelopments.com.au spoke to Adam North, one of the co-founders of South Yarra's newest institution, Entrecôte.

For those unaware, Entrecôte is South Yarra's newest hot spot - located on Domain Rd, South Yarra, it is based on the Parisian restaurants, Le Relais de l'Entrecôte, where steaks covered in a delicious sauce and frites are the core, and often sole, choice on the menu. Owned and co-founded by the two, Adam North is owner of Australian-renowned Hopkins River Beef, and Jason Jones, a restauranteur, is behind Moor Please, Friends of Mine, Porgie & Mr Jones, and Prix Fixe.

"The Entrecote concept came from two mates and their love of Paris – myself and restauranteur Jason Jones. In September last year Jason and I just so happened to be in Paris at the same time and caught up at Le Relais de l’Entrecote.  It was here that we hatched the idea of bringing the parts that we loved about this famous restaurant back home to Australia", Adam North said.

Situated in a landmark building in South Yarra, once previously occupied by the infamous Lynch's restaurant, the two have seemingly brought the soul back to the building that had previously lacked with previous ventures since Lynch's departure.

"The building just fit the concept of Entrecôte perfectly. We also believed that the building matched the concept that would be appreciated by people living or frequenting South Yarra", he continued.

"Being across from the Botanic Gardens was a great addition, the perfect place for a coffee after a walk around The Tan. Its also close to the sporting precincts of Melbourne, so we look forward to getting all the Melbourne Rebels fans before and after a big win!"

Entrecôte only opened its doors in December 2014, and it is now nearly two months into its adventure, and the customers just keep coming back.

"We've had a fantastic response, we have a large amount of 'regulars' now!"

Adam North is seriously passionate about the whole process of producing top quality beef, and Entrecôte is a reflection of that.

"Our Entrecote...we want her to be loud, ridiculous, tongue-in-cheek, delicious, fun, raucous, approachable, loveable and open all hours.  Above all, full of laughter and friends sharing a meal over glasses of wine."

Entrecôte offers beautiful breakfast, delicious one of a kind steak, fresh salad, oysters and chilled champagne - oh, and in strict Parisian fashion, it is fully-functional and open until midnight!
