Family Rules For Bathrooms

A bathroom that is neat, tidy and organised is undoubtedly more appealing to both home owners and guests.

There are certain rules and old wives’ tales that need to be obeyed.

Always consider the configuration and the space available in your bathroom and use it wisely.

Having space is never about it being big or small - it’s how you use it.  The more flexible your bathroom is, the more likely that it will remain clean.

The number one rule in bathrooms is safety. As a bathroom is a wet place, make sure towel rails are in easy reach from the bath, the basin and the shower so that water is not dragged across the floor. If you are in the midst of renovating your bathroom, consider your safety and the practicality of a bathroom.

Contemplate getting non-slip flooring and installing heated towel rails or grab rails to avoid hazards in the bathroom.

Kids or no kids, signs can be used in any bathroom, and they can look chic too.

Rules you need to obey in your bathroom to keep it in good shape and lessen your load of cleaning:

  • 5 minute showers (get a timer if you need to) - this will also help save money on your water bill too!
  • Hang up your towel
  • Close the door
  • Lather, Rinse, Repeat
  • Floss and brush twice a day
  • Put the seat down boys!
  • Use soap
  • Be neat and tidy
  • Change the toilet paper roll when it runs out
  • Don’t leave the tap running
  • Turn off the lights
  • Keep the water in the tub
  • Clean up your own mess
  • Pick up your clothes
  • Use a bath mat at all times
