What would the Simpson’s house look like if they hired an interior designer?

742 Evergreen Terrace is an address that all Simpsons boffs boast they know off by heart — it is, of course, the home of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie Simpson.

Over the past 30 years, the cartoon series has brought us a number of hilarious quotes, funny moments, a whole heap of memories and hundreds of ‘doh’s’!

But one thing the show hasn’t brought us is a change in the decor.

Since 1989 the Simpson family haven’t so much as touched a roll of wallpaper, forever keeping the sparse, yet homely furnishings, making you question the state of that couch they all sit on after decades of watching TV — which, incidentally, they have upgraded.

This got the creatives at UK studio neomam thinking: what would 742 Evergreen Terrace look like if Mr. Burns gave Homer a raise and he decided to bring in an interior designer?

The neomam team worked with interior design consultant Pat McNulty to choose a range of contemporary decor styles and then apply it to a range of rooms in the Simpson’s house — with a little digital wizardry.

With all seven rooms they chose, the team attempted to keep the decor in line with today’s interior design trends. They created digital renders of what the rooms would look like in the real world next to the ‘improved’ versions, creating a ‘before and after’ scenario.

The overall aim of the project is to inspire homeowners to think creatively about the spaces in their own homes.
