The luxurious 1, 2 and 3 bedroom homes are intelligently designed to complement the vestige of neighbouring historic buildings. With heritage-listed sites nearby, Castle Residences will transport you to a different world, one of poise — of class, elegance, and style. The individual homes feature refined pale limestone and oak timbers. The palette of soft grey hues shot through with graphite and bronze lends the residences the feeling of floating layers of luxury throughout.

This project has been specially developed so that residents can utilise the services of the Porter House Hotel. Built in 1876, the hotel is an ode to Sydney’s industrial past. Five-storeys high, the building is heritage-listed and has retained its original pressed metal ceilings and art deco marble external stairs. It was initially built to house a tobacco company and newspapers at the time described the building as an ‘ornament’ to the area.

The hotel has an array of high-end services and facilities. Acting as the ground floor lobby, Henry’s Bread and Wine, a cafe-cum-restaurant, serves coffee in the morning, or aromatic boutique wines in the evening. Designers have capitalised on the pre-existing exposed brick, warehouse-feel by adding soft lighting and marble benchtops, complemented by a dark grey colour palette with gold embellishments.

Castle residents can find an array of restaurants within the hotel. On the first floor, Dixon and Sons is a modern brasserie committed to creating intimate spaces that, all together, make the establishment effervescent. Waiters with trolleys hand guests menus featuring rotating seasonal produce at their tables while the entire place hums with vibrant energy. After dinner, guests can bar-hop to Spice Trader on the fourth floor for a signature cocktail. The owners of the bar decided to play on the hotel building’s history to pay homage to the beginning of spice trades in Asia.
