Property developer Auswin TWT is transforming the cultural landscape of St Leonards by offering free space to the independent arts community in five buildings it owns.

Creative industries such as artist studios, art galleries, recording studios, performance artists, multi-media firms and theatrical groups are using the 4,500sqm of space in Chandos and Atchison Streets to activate the precinct.

The TWT Creative Precinct was officially opened in November, 2014 with a block party curated by creative partner Brand X.

The event was a one-night-only cluster of exhibitions, performances, open studios and a pop-up party in multiple creative venues in St Leonards.

The block party was a huge hit, so TWT has once again teamed with Brand X to host a free three-day festival that will celebrate the artists’ work.

The Living Art Weekend, from March 11 to 13, will be filled with artist workshops, activities, demonstrations and performances. Attendees will get to see behind the scenes of the creative process and have the rare opportunity to meet the artists.

Brand X is a not-for-profit arts organisation run by artists for artists. Auswin TWT is an Australian-based company formed in 2002 focusing on residential property development and investment. It specialises in establishing quality residential communities that reflect its commitment to art and architecture - ‘Living works of Art’.

Currently Auswin TWT has prime development sites in Ultimo, Pyrmont and St Leonards in Sydney and South Melbourne (on Albert Park) in Melbourne.
