Pace Development Group – a Melbourne based property developer – has lodged a planning application for a $120 million apartment development on the corner of Johnston and Gore streets in Fitzroy.

Pace has a number of large projects in their pipeline, including the recently approved $300 million project at Flemington Racecourse, which is fittingly shaped as a horse shoe.

Ashley Bramich, Pace Development Group Director of Sales and Marketing, says they plan to finalise planning for the $120 million Fitzroy project this year with sales commencing second quarter of 2021 and construction following in 2022.

“Fitzroy is one of the most desirable suburbs in Melbourne and this site given its size, zoning and corner location will provide the perfect base for something special. We are very excited about the opportunity, “ Bramich said.

Designed by SJB Architects, the development will comprise 113 apartments and reach 33.58m in height – featuring a distinctive duel-colour facade set to enhance the surrounding streetscape.

What was previously a furniture store and pet warehouse on the corner of Johnston and Gore streets will be restored back to its original brick finish, seamlessly integrating with the character-filled heritage of Fitzroy.

As with all Pace developments, the project will include a number of resident amenities, including a cinema, rooftop terrace, 25m swimming pool and communal spaces.

The plan also includes a commercial offering, meaning the residential dwellings will be grounded by new cafes, restaurants or shops.
