Newly launched development Jackson Green is set to deliver 180 new houses and 170 apartments to Clayton South, located 19 kilometres from Melbourne’s CBD.

Developed by Cedar Woods, Jackson Green is a unique residential offering, encompassing a central park, a range of housing typologies and the convenience of nearby retail, recreational, employment and education opportunities.

The design of the neighbourhood encourages residents to embrace the outdoors and interact with their community within the included 4000 square metres of open space.

“We set out to create a boutique community of contemporary homes that maximises the natural amenity and all the Clayton South area has to offer,” says Cedar Woods’ Development Director Patrick Archer.

Cedar Woods has enlisted DKO Architects to design the development, which includes a mix of contemporary townhouses, detached homes and apartments ranging from one to four bedrooms.

“The design is all about bespoke architectural housing with bold shapes and robust materials,” says Maurice Leone, Housing Director at DKO.

Jackson Green carries the distinct advantage of being situated among existing quality infrastructure, including education, public transport, roads and employment opportunities.

Clayton Shopping Centre, Clayton train station, the Monash Medical Centre and the globally-renowned Monash University are all located within two kilometres.

The market response to Jackson Green has already been exceptionally strong, with most of the dwellings released in stage one (priced from $649,000) already sold. Stage two, incorporating 26 homes, is being released to the market soon.

The previous success of Cedar Woods’ developments has attracted repeat buyers to the company, including engineer Andy Chuo.

Chuo has bought into Jackson Green based on his current experience living in the company’s Footscray development Banbury Village. The area’s public transport network in particular is a draw card for Chuo, who commutes to East Melbourne for work each day.

Chuo’s brother is also planning to purchase a property in stage two of the Jackson Green launch.

“My brother and I absolutely love living in Cedar Woods homes,” Chuo says.

“The houses are so spacious and there are train stations and cafes right next door so we have flexibility with professional and family life. For us, it’s absolutely ideal.”

Cedar Woods is a highly regarded Melbourne developer and the previous winner of the prestigious Best Medium Density Development at the 2013 Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) Victoria Awards.
