In a matter of weeks construction will be underway on the first resort development to be built in Airlie Beach since the GFC - the $70million ONE Whitsundays Resort & Spa.

This boutique resort complex comprises of 75 strata titled apartments of 1, 2 and 3 bedrooms. Prices start at $395,000 and reach $3.2Million for one of two luxurious penthouses overlooking with 270 degrees of unobstructed views of Hayman Island and the Abell Point Marina.

ONE Whitsundays has promised a guaranteed 6% return for two years to potential investors. The resort will be run as a hotel, with a premium hotel operator managing the resort. There is the opportunity to live in the resort, rent it out, or do a little of both.

With a state of the art spa, gym, 300-person conference centre and a part geometric, part lagoon-style pool with views out to the marina and Coral Sea, guests will have their share of recreational activities.

Mediterranean fare will be readily available, with international restaurant Café Del Mar included in the resort.

"The natural beauty of the One Whitsundays was an absolute draw card when considering where in Australia to build a resort,” said John Zappia, CEO of the Zappia Development Group.

“With the increase in tourism value and property value in Airlie Beach, as well as the economic developments in the surrounding areas, it’s a prime location for a resort of this scale.”

Digging on the site started on the 25th August with the completion date on ONE Whitsundays 24 months from now.
