Pritzker Prize Winner To Sydney

Italian designer and architect, Renzo Piano, a Pritzker Prize winner, is set to design some new apartments in Sydney and Melbourne.

Piano is due to design the second stage of the residential apartments in Sydney's Barangaroo South, which is due to become of Australia's most luxurious apartment buildings.

“A city development of three luxury residential high-rise towers in such a location is, in this climate, a rare opportunity,” said Piano. “Our vision is to design three buildings with a gentle presence in the cityscape and in dialogue with the harbour waters and Barangaroo waterfront."

The Renzo Piano Building Workshop was named the designer of One Sydney Harbour following weeks of competitive negotiations and bids from around the world.

Following the successful completion of One Sydney Harbour, this will be Piano's second successful development in Australia, with his first being Aurora Place nearly 15 years ago.
