One of Melbourne's most recognisable instituions is currently on the market.

Colliers International are advertising the Richmond Malt to developers and investers across the country and overseas. Banked up against the Yarra River, and home to the Nylex Clock sign that so many would've have seen on their way to the MCG, the Richmond Malt will hopefully soon be home to a new state-of-the-art development.

In 2002 and 2004, the site attracted interest from investors, yet remained untouched. And don't worry, any new developers will have to abide by certain heritage rules that have been designed to protect the Nylex Clock sign itself. The infamous sign was built in 1961 by a South Melbourne company, 'Neon Electric Signs', and is currently under the protection of the National Trust.

What was once an industrial area, today, this area of Cremorne is becoming one of Melbourne's latest 'it' suburbs - with cafes, and a trendy vibe, formulating in Cremone itself. Only one train station away from Melbourne's CBD, and one train ride away from the beach, Cremorne is now highly sort after.

The new development will combine the new and the old, with the remaining silos and the old brewery remaining in place. At 11,340m2 of land area, the area would suit almost any sub-industry, whether that be a retail, residential or a commerical avenue.
